About the most variety offered is the color scheme, which varies through navy blue, gray, khaki, and camel. Here's a quick, easy guide to picking out the clothing ensemble which you'll spend a good portion of your life wearing:Choosing a jacket style: The two-button, single-breasted jacket is a popular style, but three or four button jackets are also available and are usually seen in colder climates. Only thin men should wear formal double-breasted jackets, which tend to add bulk to your figure. They have to be kept buttoned at all times, or else the jacket hangs awkwardly.Select a fabric, its color, and pattern. If you opt for a patterned fabric, check to see that the patterns line up at the shoulder and lapel seams. High-quality worsted wool is the most seasonally versatile fabric. Cotton and linen are better for summer wear. Avoid blends that are made with too much polyester, as they...
| | Do you like digital watches or analogue ones? | | I personally think analogue ones are more accurate, if they are done properly. Digital ones are more childish, but then again, more futuristic.:P What's your preference? What are wearing on your wrist right now?:P | |
| | | Did you know--Daylight Saving time will arrive a little earlier this year???? | | I was looking online just now and found this article. I'm one of those people that look forward to April's daylight saving time change. That also let's me know warmer weather is right around the corner..:)Well, if you didn't know, This year daylight saving time arrives a little earlier this year. March 11, 2007 and will stay a little later also, Until November 4, 2007.It's bringing a problem along with it that could affect everything from stock trades to airline schedules to your Blackberry...Software created before the law mandating the change passed in 2005 is set to automatically advance its timekeeping by one hour on the first Sunday in April, not the second Sunday in March. Congress decided that more early evening daylight would translate into energy savings. The result is a glitch reminiscent of the Y2K bug, when cataclysmic crashes were feared if the computers interpreted the year 2000 as 1900 and couldn't reconcile time apprearing to move backwards. If banks and other institutions aren't properly prepared, automatic stock trades reportedly might happen at the wrong hour, buildings that unlock at a certain time could stay shut, and airline flight schdules... | |
| | Why do most of the watch ads display the time as 10:10? | | watch ads stick to roughly 10:10. Strangely, we also found plenty of digital watches set to the same time. This is obviously some kind of advertising standard. Why? Did some famous watch inventor die at 10 past 10? What's the significance? According to a reliable source, the reason is purely aesthetic. A watch reading 10:10 has a clean, symmetrical look. Also, the hands don't obscure the watchmaker insignia, which is usually located directly below 12 o'clock. | |
| | What is Embedded System? | | An embedded system is a special-purpose system in which the computer is completely encapsulated by or didicated to the device or system it controls. Unlike a general-purpose computer, such as a personal computer, an embedded system performs one or a few pre-defined tasks, usually with very specific requiremetns. Since the system is dedicated to specific tasks, design engineers can optimize it, reducing the size and cost of the product. Embedded systems are often mass-produced, benefiting from economies of scale.
Personal digital assistants (PDAs) or handheld computers are generally considered embedded devices because of the nature of their hardware design, even through they are more expandable in software tems. This like of difinition continures to blur as devices expand.
Physically, embedded systems range from portable devices such as digital watches and MP3 players, to large stationsy installations like traffic lights, factory controllers, or the systems controlling nuclear power plants.
In terms of complexity embedded systems can range from very simpel with a single microcontroller chip, to very complex with multple units, peripherals and networks mounted inside a large...
| | Computers, TVs, VCRs, DVDs, and all the stuff that comes next. | | I am seeing on TV that movies are now coming out on Blu-ray, which is apparently the next step after DVD. Some people, including my husband, still think the best thing that ever happened to movies was the VHS VCR. We have a Pentium IV system and my soul aches for a Core duo processor. Knowing that we are badly in need of a second computer in our home, some friends gave us one. Brought it home only to find out it was a Pentium II.The reason this old stuff stays around so long is because there are people like my husband who get used to the old technologies and they are techno-phobic about anything changing. It took so long to learn how to set their digital watches, it took away all their enthusiasm. I am sure we all know funny anecdotes about people like this. Are you yourself or anyone you know techno-phobic. I love to try everything new. Even if I don't get it right away, I can usually work it out after a while. | |
