christmas items Commentary To Help With Your Purchase
| | Going to start making Christmas items | | I am going to start sculpting Christmas pieces this week. I have a few pieces in my mind. I want to do a snowman with a little folk art twist to him. And a Cross with some folk art twist to it. I will post pics as this discussion goes along from the lumps of clay to the finished pieces. | |
| | | Christmas, Christmas everywhere...Didn't we just have Halloween | | Today at work someone yelled out of their office, "OMG I found a station that plays all Christmas music. Me and another co-worker said "already?" But then once I thought about it, when I was at the grocery store last night, they had put the Halloween candy on clearance and was stocking Christmas items. Is Christmas getting earlier? I'm thinking with all of this Christmas stuff being thrown in my face, I should start my shopping in July! LOLAnyone done with their Christmas Shopping? | |
| | Shopping Sale Days....Why Do People Have To Treat Things Like Junk? | | You might say this is a peeve of mine and guess it is sort of based on a friend of mine's discussion here about the after Christmas sale days...but actually can be ANYTIME of the year.Today for instance I went to my local Walgreens....anything related to Christmas items are all 50% off...okay no problem....but I was dismayed to see that the entire isle where everything is looked like the day after the blitz...things strewn on the floor where people have walked on them, not bothering to pick them up..items like cute Christmas themed hand towels, potholders...all with "nice" black shoe marks on them now, indicating they had been walked on.[em]angry[/em]Just what is it that makes people feel, that since something is on sale they can treat the items like shat? No respect for them? And it's not only something like this.My mother used to work part-time at Macy's....we're now talking about VERY EXPENSIVE clothes...designer clothes. It was her job to not only "assist" in the dressing rooms, but to pick up clothes that were strewn all over the place like so much garbage....clothes costing hundreds of dollars being treated like shat..and the same thing...they would have obvious... | |
| | Christmas Lay-A-Ways. | | When I was raising my children, I used to use the lay-a-way plan. That was really the only way that I could get them the things that that wanted. I did not have the money to pay cash for them. I know that Wal_Mart has now done away with their layaway plan. A lot of people was disappointed with this.Did you use a lay-a-way plan to get your children Christmas Items?Have you ever used a Lay-A-Way plan? | |
| | What Is the Biggest Holiday Where You Live? | | I would have to say that the biggest holiday where I live is probably Christmas, and I would say that this is (arguably) the biggest holiday in the United States. In its secular form, the Christmas season officially begins in late November with the "Day After Thanksgiving Sale", although seasonal Christmas items appear in many stores around October (and sometimes even earlier). Christmas music and television specials (sacred and secular) become prominent on radio and television after the Thanksgiving holiday and run through New Year's Day.The sacred "Christmas season" does not officially begin until December 25, although many see the season of Advent as a season of preparation for Christmas and tie the two seasons together. The festival celebration usually involves presents and a holiday meal. What is the biggest holiday where you live? And how is this holiday traditionally celebrated? | |
| | fellow crafters. Do you recycle or do you buy new products to craft with. | | I would like to hear from my fellow crafters. Do you recycle products from home, such as soda bottles. juice lids ect. for your crafting or do you buy at the store. What are some of the crafts you make? Do you sell them for money? Please share some of your projects with us. I Love to sew. Especially Christmas items. But I have made alot of differnt crafts over the years, and I do recycle. | |
| | Scented Candles | | I burn scented candles every day. I have them all over my house. My favorite scents are apple/cinnamon and anything with the fresh "Hawaiin" scent. Pineapple and such reminds me of spring and summer and helps me with my spring fever. The apple/cinnamon I will stock up on right after Christmas when "Christmas items" go 75% off. I can get the big 4 wick candles for a dollar. We have cats and we are smokers. By burning candles it kind of takes away from the "yucky" smells and makes my house feel clean. They are also very relaxing. | |
| | Target after-Christmas deals! | | I just love Target! I went today to buy one little item for a party on Saturday, and I checked out the 50% off Christmas items. I got cards for next year, wrapping paper, some lights, some ornaments (like I really need more), some garland, Playdoh for my kids and some chocolates. All half price! I know, the stuff will go down to 75% off and then 90% off, but I like to get the wrapping paper while the selection is still good.
So have you gotten any good after-Christmas deals? | |
