| | | 40 years to say thank you to her hero | | for one woman..her life was touched by an angel... when she was just a baby her house caught on fire. it was pitch black and you couldnt even see in front of your face but a brave man went in looking for the baby. she lay in her crib, dressed only in a diaper, unconscious. her chances were slim, but he never gave up as he pressed his mouth to hers to give her air. 40 years later he still remembered that night when he had the chance to save her life. and she never forgot the man who will always be her hero. she finally had the chance to meet him and thank him for saving her life.http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2009/02/12/40_years_worth_of_thanks/?page=1its just amazing how some people are so caring. it is so touching to read this story | |
| | 40 Places I Want To See Before I Die | | While having my hair done @ a parlor yesterday, I read a magazine article about 1000 places that need to be seen before one dies. Some places were truly captivating. As soon as I reached home, I started to list all places I wanted to see before I die. There was a weird feeling since the last thing I want to discuss is about death - particularly my death! But I guess since the "D" word is inevitable, so I have my list, though many times shorter that 1000. Here are some of the places I want to see before I die:Locally:
1. Boracay Beach
2. Dakkak Beach
3. Cebu
4. Puerto Galera (But hopefully this April as we celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary my family will go there! Yehey!!!)
5. Vigan, Ilocos Sur
6. Palawan
7. Pearl Farm,Davao
8. Banawe Rice Terraces
Gee! I never knew I still have A LOT to see here in my country! Now, for other places, here are my choices:
9. India - where the movie "CITY of JOY" was shot
10. Japan - though my hubby already went there so many times. i like to see the cherry blossoms
11. China - where the Great Wall of China is located
12. Bali, Indonesia
13. Thailand
14. Nepal
15. Korea
16. HongKong Disney Land
17. Where the Blue Danube is... | |
| | will you have a baby when you are 40? | | hi all!i married kind of late, at least for our society. i got married when i was 32 and it took more than a year before i conceived our first baby. i am still pregnant and expecting our little princess next month. so i will be giving birth nearing 34 years old.thankfully, i got pregnant this time. and i intend to have another one soon. the reason is, i would not want to reach 40 before getting pregnant again. i am thinking of complications and the difficulty, and with age, my body will probably no longer be in its prime,so anyway, i just wanna know, will you have a baby when you are 40? what will your preparations be?take care all and God bless you!happy mylotting!:D | |
| | I look 40!!! I really needed this today! | | Today was particularly rough in dealing with the IRS, Social Security, Congress, Tax advocates, etc. Pretty suffice to say that it occupied my entire day. It was worth the bull-headiness...I got the problem solved. Still, I am not a phone person and I was a bit hyper from hanging about physically doing nothing all day when my daughter arrived home from school. She suggested we go out shopping...of course...she is 15. Now that I know my finances are in order, I'm ok with it so out we venture. On our way home, I decided to pick up a bottle of wine. The lady carded me saying...I'm sorry, I have to card anyone that looks 40 or under. I know your of age but it's my job." I laughed and said no problem at all...I want to hug you. She looked at my ID and said,"wow...good job". I needed that. I'm 52. I remember when I got insulted when they stopped carding me at 32. In my wildest dreams back then could I ever have imagined feeling complimented that someone took me for under 40. I've come to terms with being 52 and in my eyes...i see it. Its all ok...life. But OMG...she made my day. | |
| | Does life begin after 40? | | Most people are at a stage of their career at the age of 40, where they have attained a measure of stability and are well entrenched in their jobs. They are drawing a reasonable salary and are in the middle or upper levels of seniority in their profession. They have more perks and privileges than they had when they were in their 20s and 30s. Do they start enjoying life at 40 or are they on a decline after 40? | |
| | Breast Implants over 40? | | So many young women are getting implants. However, I wonder how many women over the age of 40 get breast implants. I would wonder if there is more of a danger with the surgery after a certain age. Would you ever get implants over the age of 40? | |
| | | 40 years old and single! | | My marriage of 12 yrs ended a year and a half ago. I turned 40 shortly after that and now I feel I'm in some mad dash to find my next partner! I'm also dating men who are 10 yrs younger than me for some reason! Is this a midlife crisis?? Can anyone relate? How do I allow myself to heal without worrying I'm gonna be too old and no one will want me? That's my fear! Help!! | |
